These pictures were all taken in Ilulissat and the area around Disco Bay.
South of Ilulissat is an ice fjord from which countless icebergs drift northwards. There are three hiking trails around the town of Ilulissat from which you can see the ice fjord and icebergs from a distance.
We also took several tours in small boats between the icebergs, which allowed us to admire them up close from the sea level. The colours that the ice takes on due to the different lighting of the sky were always impressive. We had never seen such incredibly bright and rich blues and pinks in nature before. On every tour and until the last day of our stay, we could hardly believe that what we were seeing was really real.
We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. Obviously, the sled dogs were also impressed, because they barked and howled especially loudly when the lights were at their brightest.
Enjoy the photos. If you think the colours are too saturated, they're not. Nature has done its best here :-)
